Looking For Something to Do in Cape May NAS Wildood Air Musuem

Visiting the Naval Air Station Aviation Museum, Wildwood in Cape May NJ.

We recently visited the Naval Air Station Wildwood with our kids, as we were looking for a day trip to enjoy on a rainy afternoon that was close to Cape May NJ. The Naval Air Station or "NAS" Wildwood is only six miles from the center of Cape May NJ, located off of route 9 in at the Rio Grand Airport. It's very easy to find and has free parking for cars, vans or campers.

This non profit museum is located in an restored aircraft hanger which served as active duty dive bomber training facility during World War II. This hanger now houses several antique airplanes, aircraft exhibits, interactive displays for kids and you can climb up into a real aircraft field control tower which is great fun for the kids. In total they have over 26 airplanes on display for you to check out.

This is a great venue for younger kids or military historians, they have an abundance of planes and some interactive displays for children . You are visiting a restored hanger and the entire tour is about one hour or two hours depending on how long you stay. The cost was $10 per daily adult and $8 for children . You can also bring small well behaved dogs inside the hanger with you for the tour.. You can also sit in a number of the aircraft cockpits and in one helicopter which a is lots of fun and makes for a great photo opportunity with the children.. Great fun and the have a diner at the field or you can bring lunch and save the money. This was a great day as the kids enjoyed the interactive displays and actually got to sit in the cockpit of a few aircraft as we snapped their photos....don't miss this non profit museum located only minutes from Cape May, New Jersey.
