Harbor Square Theatre is South Jersey’s premier movie theatre experience

STONE HARBOR — After months of renovation, Harbor Square Theatre opened its doors Friday, July 22 for the first time since Clinton Bunting and his partners acquired the property in January.
Ever dream of enjoying a full meal plus drinks at the movie theater? Introducing Harbor Burger Bar and its accompanying concession stand. Located within the same building as Harbor Square Theatre, it’s the best place to consume some food while simultaneously consuming a film.
What to expect
Enjoy a glass of wine with your movie at Harbor Burger Bar, or a filling meal. In addition to the full-scale restaurant that occupies the front of the building — complete with signage reminiscent of a vintage marquee — there’s a concession area at the theater with restaurant offerings right next to the candy and popcorn.
The new guy in town, Harbor Burger Bar is poised to become a mainstay, offering the complete “dinner and a movie” package. Customers can bring their food and drinks into the movie itself, but it’s worth hanging out at the bar or restaurant for a while, either before or after a show, or even if you’re not going to a show at all.

Food and drink
There’s an impressive tap list at Harbor Burger Bar — think Cape May IPA, Jack-O Traveler Pumpkin Ale, Goose Island IPA and seasonal Sam Adams — ranging from $5.50 to $7, with additional options available at the concession area for a 16- or 24-ounce draft (for $7 and $10).
The specialty cocktails, however, are worth indulging in, if only for their Hollywood-inspired names. From the Shirley Temple Black (Goslings Black Seal rum and Goslings ginger beer, topped with Maraschino liqueur for $10) and the Silver Screen Margarita (Patron Silver, Cointreau and fresh orange and lime juice with a touch of sour for $13), to the Saturday at the Movies Martini (Skyy cherry vodka, Triple Sec, fresh lemon and cranberry juice for $10), the cocktails offer a fun way to pay homage to classic Hollywood.
And while we love our movie theater popcorn, there’s no reason to limit yourself to the ordinary when you’re hitting the movies at Harbor Square Theatre. Check out the buffalo chicken eggrolls, fried pickles or mozzarella wedges for some small bites, or go for a burger. It’s not called a burger bar for nothing, offering at least eight options from the Bleu-Rugula to the Cali burger.
Coming up
On Thursday, Sept. 8, the following movies are being screened: “Sully,” “Don’t Breathe,” “War Dogs,” “Suicide Squad,” “Bad Moms,” “The Secret Life of Pets,” and “Finding Dory,” with new movies coming over the weekend.
Harbor Burger Bar is also looking forward to tapping into all areas of the performing arts in the future, from stand up comedy to film festivals. Stay tuned!
