The region's most sought-after antiques dealers and craftspeople come together for a two-day show in Victorian Cape May on Feb. 16 and Feb. 17. The show features handmade items, gifts, country antiques, glassware, miniatures, silver, furniture and more. Crafts & Antiques in Winter will be held at Cape May Convention Hall, Beach Avenue at Decatur, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission is $2.
Wine lovers will enjoy combining a Wine Tasting Dinner, Winery Cellar Tour & Tasting and Wine School Class over Presidents' Day Weekend for triple the delight. The Cape May Wine Weekend, Feb. 15 through Feb. 17, begins on Friday with a four-course Wine Tasting Dinner at the Washington Inn, 801 Washington St., featuring wines themed to the Wine School Class on Sun. Guests will be treated to individual attention from the wine steward. On Feb. 16 at 3 p.m., visit the award-winning Cape May Winery located in North Cape May for a Winery Cellar Tour & Tasting that includes a tour of the vineyard, an introduction to the winemaker's art, and a barrel tasting with cheese and fruit. On Feb. 17 at 1 p.m., learn the finer points of fine wines and expand your knowledge in a Wine School Class at the Washington Inn on "Great Italian Reds." The complete package (gratuity not included) is $145 per person.
The Cape May Wine School class can be purchased separately from the Cape May Wine Weekend. Learn about red wines from Italy and meet other wine enthusiasts. The class on Feb. 17, "Great Italian Reds," takes place at the Washington Inn, 801 Washington St. at 1 p.m. Admission is $40 per person.
Experience the award-winning Cape May Winery during a Winery Cellar Tour & Tasting at the Cape May Winery, 711 Town Bank Rd., on Feb. 16 and Feb. 17 at 3 p.m. Tour the vineyard to see how the grapes are grown, get an introduction to the winemaker's art in the winery and enjoy a barrel-tasting accompanied by cheese and fruit. Admission is $20 per person and includes a sampling of five to six kinds of wine and a complimentary souvenir tasting glass.
Would you rather sip and swirl at your own pace? Then the Self-guided Wine Trail is for you. Spend the afternoon touring Natali Vineyards and Hawk Haven Vineyard & Winery and sampling wines at each. Admission is $8 and includes a map with the wineries listed and a tasting glass. Self-guided Wine Trails are offered Feb. 16 and Feb. 17 from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m.
