Friday through Tuesday, this annual celebration of Cape May’s Victorian heritage offers fun, fun, fun! Come to downtown Cape May for dances in Victorian dress, a crafts & antiques show, plus yummy food and wine events including murder mystery dinners. There will be house tours of course, with John F. October 13, 2012 ~ Cape May Dragon Boat Festival
This new annual event features colorful dragon-headed boats manned by teams racing along a 250-meter straight course in Cape May Harbor. Come to the Harbor on Saturday to cheer on the festive boats or join a team and really get in on the fun. All equipment will be provided. There will also be demonstrations, live music, food and vendors with arts, crafts and other wares for sale. Races start at 9 am continue all day until about 3:30 pm depending on how the heats run. October 26-28, 2012 ~ Cape May Autumn Birding Festival
This 66th annual event celebrates the yearly migration of thousands of wild birds passing through Cape May. Birdwatchers and photographers come from all over to join in the festival and catch sight of the flying multitude. Festival events at the Cape May Convention Hall (714 County Highway 604) include special guest presentations, a live raptor show, wildlife arts & crafts and much more! Of course the main event will be happening at the Cape May Bird Observatory (701 East Lake Drive) where there will be guided birdwatching tours and boat trips.
