through Wednesday, Oct. 31. Get into the “spirit” of the season with more than
two weeks of Halloween-themed tours and events including ghost trolley tours,
spooky tours of Cape May’soriginal haunted house, the 1879 Emlen Physick
Estate, psychic teas, murder mystery dinners, paranormalexperiences with

5-Nov. 4 Scarecrow Alley: The grounds of the Emlen Physick Estate,
1048 Washington St. are ghoulishly transformed for Halloween with a display of
frightening and fun scarecrows created by members of the community. Take a
stroll along Scarecrow Alley on the grounds. Free admission. Friday, Oct. 5
through Sunday, Nov. 4. Open daily.

Scarecrow
Contest: Artistic, ghoulish, funny and frightening scarecrows compete for
prizes during the annual Scarecrow Contest on the grounds of the Emlen Physick
Estate, 1048 Washington St. Community participants submit full-sized scarecrow
entries that are displayed on the grounds of the estate along “Scarecrow Alley,”
from Friday, Oct. 5-Sunday, Nov. 4. Register for the contest and create a
scarecrow alone or as a team. Straw and stakes are available from estate
maintenance staff from Monday, Sept. 24. Drop off finished scarecrows
Wednesday, Oct. 3 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Contest winners will receive prizes in
various categories, with a People’s Choice Award and $200 to the creators of
the scarecrow that garners the most votes. Participate by voting! Each
scarecrow will have a numbered photo on display in the Carriage House Gallery,
so cast a vote for your favorite. Registration for the competition is required.

and James, a photojournalist and a foreign correspondent, try to find happiness
in a world that seems to have gone crazy. This moving new play prompts poignant
questions about responsibility – to ourselves, to our loved ones, to our

Lynne Theater Company presents “It Pays to Advertise”: A
long-running hit when it
opened on Broadway in
September of 1914, this screwball comedy by Roi Cooper Megrue and
Walter C. Hackett was
twice made into a movie: a silent in 1919, and in 1931 with Carole Lombard.The
premise – and promise – that anything can be sold in America is at its core,
but it also examines the very nature and romance of advertising and its

Belle of Amherst:” Emily Dickinson’s life is recreated with liberal excerpts from her poetry and by the method of
her playing the roles of her father, teacher and friends. “The Belle of Amherst”
delicately explores the life of America's greatest woman poet at various stages in her experience from the age of 15,
when she was full of hope and success, until she died at 56, a virtual recluse with her door closed

19 Delaware Bay Lighthouse Adventure: Come aboard the
newly redesigned Cape May Whale Watcher or the new Spirit of Cape May on a
5-hour cruise to view and photograph historic lighthouses of the late 19th and early part of the 20th centuries. Most of these
lighthouses stand on pedestals out of sight of land and are still operational. Each cruise also includes
narration on Delaware Bay lore and legend, including information on fishing, spawning grounds and more. Includes
