Mick Moloney to Perform in Cape May

CAPE MAY, NJ – Award-winning musician and folklorist Mick Moloney brings Ireland to Cape May
Convention Hall on St. Patrick’s Day, Sunday, March 17 at 4 pm. Mick has recorded and produced over
forty albums of traditional music, and his 2006 release McNally’s Row of Flats was named the number-one traditional Irish album by noted music commentator Earle Hitchner. Says Hitchner: "No one has
succeeded more in taking this once-vital part of Irish American culture out of musty archives and
moldering dissertations and placing it afresh on CD and concert stage than Mick Moloney."

Born in Ireland, Mick came to America in 1973 and has pursued a career that uniquely combines the
roles of musician, folklorist, author, presenter, radio and television personality, and educator. Mick is
the author of Far From the Shamrock Shore: The story of Irish American History Through Song, with
an accompanying music CD that uses song to narrate the journey of Irish immigration to America. He
has hosted three nationally syndicated series of folk music on American Public Television, and was
awarded the 1999 National Heritage Award from the National Endowment for the Arts — the highest
official honor a traditional artist can receive in the United States.

The Ugly Mug, one of the area’s favorite spots for over 85 years,
will be selling some of it’s famous pub grub and beverage starting at 3 p.m. Patrons are encouraged to get Convention Hall early to kick off the Irish festivities with a pint of Guinness or Smithwicks!
